The AC-Adapter and DC-Adapter are simple “voltage and current measurement” adapters-interfaces for low current measurements. They are supplied complete with digital converter and the max. capacity is 20 A AC/DC and 600V AC and 1000V DC.

Normally, PV systems are checked using the handy clamp meters which provide a good level of precision through a broad current range (20 - 400 Amp.). To ensure the precision required by the standards, the AC-Adapter and DC-Adapter must be used with a direct (shunt) connection to the circuit.

The E-MAX AC and E-MAX DC are adapters for high current levels. These adapters allow the measuring range of the E-SUN to be extended, depending on the clamp meter connected.

The extension provided by the adapters depends on the clamp meter connected to them; normally, ordinary precision clamp meters with continuous voltage output (mV) can be used. The E-MAX digital adapter allows one or more clamp meters with capacity over 400A to be connected to the E-SUN. N.B. a clamp meter with max capacity of 1000A is supplied as an accessory.

The E-BOX is a multichannel digital adapter which allows a digital input to be expanded up to three inputs.

Use of the E-BOX is recommended when it is essential to expand the E-SUN’s existing four digital inputs to allow the addition of one or more E-CLAMP digital clamp meters. For example, it is often used for three-phase measurements on the AC side with three clamp meters and on the DC side with three separate MPPT circuits (see image gallery). Naturally, the addition of an E-BOX also implies the addition of one or more DC or AC E-CLAMP clamp meters.
