This standard systematically defines technical terms and definitions relating to the types of doors and gates used in the industrial, commercial and residential sectors.
Aim
- Standardise the naming and classification of different types of doors (e.g. sectional, roll-up, folding, sliding, hinged);
- Facilitating technical communication between designers, builders, installers, maintainers and authorities;
- Common basis for all related product standards (such as EN 13241).
Scope of Application
- Manual and motorised doors and gates;
- Vertical, horizontal, rotary-sliding opening systems;
- Doors with panels, tarps, doors or movable elements.
